(a) The advisory board consists of five members representing the used automotive parts industry in this state appointed by the presiding officer of the commission with the approval of the commission.
(b) The advisory board shall include members who represent used automotive parts businesses owned by domestic entities, as defined by § 1.002, Business Organizations Code.

  • Presiding officer: A majority-party Senator who presides over the Senate and is charged with maintaining order and decorum, recognizing Members to speak, and interpreting the Senate's rules, practices and precedents.

(c) The advisory board shall include one member who represents a used automotive parts business owned by a foreign entity, as defined by § 1.002, Business Organizations Code.
(d) The advisory board may not include more than one member from any one used automotive parts business entity.
(e) Appointments to the advisory board shall be made without regard to the race, color, disability, sex, religion, age, or national origin of the appointee.
