(a) A person, including an entity, commits an offense if the person violates this chapter.
(b) An offense under this section is a Class A misdemeanor.

- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
- Venue: The geographical location in which a case is tried.
(c) Venue for the prosecution of an offense under this section that consists of the violation of § 801.251 is in a district court in Travis County or the county in which the offense occurred.
