(a) The attorney general may offer to an attorney representing the state in the prosecution of an offense under § 35.02 the investigative, technical, and litigation assistance of the attorney general’s office.
(b) The attorney general may prosecute or assist in the prosecution of an offense under § 35.02 on the request of the attorney representing the state described by Subsection (a).
Terms Used In Texas Penal Code 35.04
- Litigation: A case, controversy, or lawsuit. Participants (plaintiffs and defendants) in lawsuits are called litigants.
- Prosecute: To charge someone with a crime. A prosecutor tries a criminal case on behalf of the government.
