(a) The district may provide for the establishment of a hospital or hospital system to provide medical and hospital care to the district’s needy residents.
(b) The hospital system may include:
(1) facilities and equipment for domiciliary care and treatment of sick, injured, or geriatric patients;
(2) outpatient clinics;
(3) convalescent home facilities;
(4) physicians’ offices; and
(5) any other facilities or equipment the board considers necessary for hospital purposes.
