Terms Used In Texas Special District Local Laws Code 1045.114
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
The board may contract with a political subdivision of this state, a state, the federal government, an agency or political subdivision of those public entities, or a charitable or other private entity for the district to:
(1) furnish a mobile emergency medical service; or
(2) provide for the investigatory or welfare needs of district inhabitants or of persons for whom the public or private entity has an obligation to provide care.
