- Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
A bond, note, or other obligation issued under this chapter, a transaction related to the bond, note, or other obligation, the interest on the bond, note, or other obligation, and the profit from the sale of the bond, note, or other obligation are exempt from taxation by this state or a political subdivision of this state.
