(a) A person charged with a civil offense who fails to appear at an administrative adjudication hearing authorized under this chapter is considered to admit liability for the offense charged.
(b) The person who issued the citation or summons is not required to attend an instanter hearing.
Terms Used In Texas Transportation Code 682.007
- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
- Summons: Another word for subpoena used by the criminal justice system.
