Terms Used In Texas Transportation Code Chapter 546 - Operation of Authorized Emergency Vehicles and Certain Other Vehicles

  • Arrest: Taking physical custody of a person by lawful authority.
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Justice: when applied to a magistrate, means justice of the peace. See Texas Government Code 312.011
  • Mortgage: The written agreement pledging property to a creditor as collateral for a loan.
