(a) The railroad commission shall establish proper and adequate rates and methods of depreciation, amortization, or depletion for each class of property of a gas utility or municipally owned utility.
(b) The rates and methods established under this section and the depreciation account required under § 102.152 shall be used uniformly and consistently throughout rate-setting and appeal proceedings.
Terms Used In Texas Utilities Code 104.054
- Amortization: Paying off a loan by regular installments.
- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
- Property: means real and personal property. See Texas Government Code 311.005
