Terms Used In Texas Utilities Code 162.053
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
The name of a telephone cooperative must:
(1) include the words “telephone” and “cooperative” and the abbreviation “Inc.”; and
(2) be distinct from the name of any other corporation organized under the laws of or authorized to do business in this state.
