Terms Used In Tennessee Code 13-20-414
- City: means the city or town which is, or is about to be, included in the territorial boundaries of an authority when created hereunder. See Tennessee Code 13-20-102
- Council: means the legislative body, council, board of commissioners, board of trustees, or other body charged with governing the city. See Tennessee Code 13-20-102
- Governing body: means the council of any city. See Tennessee Code 13-20-102
- Municipality: means any city, town, or village or other municipality in the state. See Tennessee Code 13-20-102
Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, all action authorized to be taken under such law by the council or other governing body of any city or of any municipality may be by resolution adopted by a majority of all the members of its council or other governing body, which resolution may be adopted at the meeting of the council or other governing body at which such resolution is introduced and shall take effect immediately upon such adoption, and no such resolution need be published or posted.
