- Garnishment: Generally, garnishment is a court proceeding in which a creditor asks a court to order a third party who owes money to the debtor or otherwise holds assets belonging to the debtor to turn over to the creditor any of the debtor
- Litigation: A case, controversy, or lawsuit. Participants (plaintiffs and defendants) in lawsuits are called litigants.
If the garnishee die after having been summoned in garnishment, and pending the litigation, the proceedings may be revived by or against the deceased garnishee’s representatives.
