Terms Used In Tennessee Code 30-1-408

  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • Trustee: A person or institution holding and administering property in trust.

The county legislative body shall have the power, on the death, removal, or insolvency of any one (1) or more of the sureties on the bond of the administrator, guardian, trustee, or receiver, to require the administrator, guardian, trustee, or receiver to renew that person’s bond, or give other good and sufficient security for the performance of that person’s duties, and to take any and all steps that may be necessary to secure the estates committed to the charge of the administrator, guardian, trustee, or receiver.
