Terms Used In Tennessee Code 36-6-201
- Child: means an individual who has not attained eighteen (18) years of age. See Tennessee Code 36-6-205
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
This part may be cited as the “Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act.”
