The commissioner has the power and authority to:
Terms Used In Tennessee Code 43-6-107
- Agriculture: means :
(i) The land, buildings and machinery used in the commercial production of farm products and nursery stock. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105 - Commissioner: means the commissioner of agriculture or the commissioner's duly authorized agents. See Tennessee Code 43-6-102
- Insect pests: means insects or closely related organisms in any stage of development injurious to the agricultural, horticultural, silvicultural, or other interests of the state. See Tennessee Code 43-6-102
- Person: includes a corporation, firm, company or association. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
- Plant diseases: means infectious or transmissible diseases of plants, and their pathogens, including parasitic plants in any stage of development. See Tennessee Code 43-6-102
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
