- Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
This chapter applies to life settlements as defined in this chapter and shall be known and may be cited as the “Tennessee Viatical Settlement Act of 2009.”
