Except as otherwise provided by this part, the following shall be treated as confidential and may not be disclosed except by order of a court of competent jurisdiction or by permission of the applicant:

(1) Applications and other personal information submitted by applicants, except to the applicant, the commissioner, department, or its staff; and

Terms Used In Tennessee Code 62-18-213

  • Commissioner: means the commissioner of commerce and insurance, or the commissioner's designee. See Tennessee Code 62-18-203
  • Department: means the department of commerce and insurance. See Tennessee Code 62-18-203
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
(2) Information submitted by a reference concerning an applicant, except to the commissioner, department, or its staff.
