Terms Used In Tennessee Code > Title 56 > Chapter 6 > Part 14 - Travel Insurance Producer Limited License Act

  • Answer: The formal written statement by a defendant responding to a civil complaint and setting forth the grounds for defense.
  • Attorney: means the person designated and authorized by subscribers as the attorney-in-fact having authority to obligate them on reciprocal insurance contracts. See Tennessee Code 56-16-102
  • Commissioner: means the commissioner of commerce and insurance. See Tennessee Code 56-6-1402
  • Department: means the department of commerce and insurance. See Tennessee Code 56-1-102
  • DRP: means a person designated by a travel insurance supervising entity pursuant to §. See Tennessee Code 56-6-1402
  • Limited lines travel insurance producer: means an individual or business entity that has met the requirements of §. See Tennessee Code 56-6-1402
  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
  • Offer and disseminate: means providing general information, including a description of the coverage and price, as well as processing the application, collecting premiums, and performing other lawful nonlicensable activities. See Tennessee Code 56-6-1402
  • Person: means a business entity or a natural person. See Tennessee Code 56-6-1402
  • Representative: when applied to those who represent a decedent, includes executors and administrators, unless the context implies heirs and distributees. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
  • Travel insurance supervising entity: means a person that receives a license pursuant to §. See Tennessee Code 56-6-1402
  • Travel retailer: means a business entity that makes, arranges, or offers travel services and may offer and disseminate travel insurance as a service to its customers on behalf of and under the direction of a travel insurance supervising entity. See Tennessee Code 56-6-1402
  • written: includes printing, typewriting, engraving, lithography, and any other mode of representing words and letters. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
