This chapter does not apply to:
(1) a restriction on expressive activity on public grounds that a political subdivision imposes in order to comply with Title 20A, Election Code;
Terms Used In Utah Code 11-61-103
- Expressive activity: means :(1)(a) peacefully assembling, protesting, or speaking;(1)(b) distributing literature;(1)(c) carrying a sign; or(1)(d) signature gathering or circulating a petition. See Utah Code 11-61-102
- Political subdivision: means a county, city, or town. See Utah Code 11-61-102
- Property: includes both real and personal property. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Public grounds: includes sidewalks, streets, and parks. See Utah Code 11-61-102
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(2) property that a political subdivision owns or leases:(2)(a) that is closed to public access; or(2)(b) where state or federal law restricts expressive activity; or(3) a limited or nonpublic forum.
