(1) As used in this section, “ballot process” includes:

Terms Used In Utah Code 20A-3a-807

  • Ballot: means the storage medium, including a paper, mechanical, or electronic storage medium, that records an individual voter's vote. See Utah Code 20A-1-102
  • Canvass: means the review of election returns and the official declaration of election results by the board of canvassers. See Utah Code 20A-1-102
  • Election: means a regular general election, a municipal general election, a statewide special election, a local special election, a regular primary election, a municipal primary election, and a special district election. See Utah Code 20A-1-102
  • Signature: includes a name, mark, or sign written with the intent to authenticate an instrument or writing. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
     (1)(a) signature verification;
     (1)(b) opening ballots;
     (1)(c) scanning ballots;
     (1)(d) adjudicating ballots;
     (1)(e) replicating damaged or defective ballots; or
     (1)(f) tabulating votes.
(2) A county clerk shall:

     (2)(a) beginning at least three days before the day on which the county clerk begins mailing ballots for an election, and ending on the first day of the canvass, post on the county clerk’s website a schedule of the hours, over the next three days, during which the county clerk plans to conduct one or more ballot processes; and
     (2)(b) update any changes to the schedule at least 24 hours before the clerk modifies the hours.
