Terms Used In Utah Code 34-23-201
- Division: means the Division of Antidiscrimination and Labor in the commission. See Utah Code 34-23-103
- Hazardous occupation: is a ny occupation defined as hazardous by the United States Department of Labor under Utah Code 34-23-103
- Minor: means an individual under 18 years old. See Utah Code 34-23-103
- Writing: includes :(48)(a) printing;(48)(b) handwriting; and(48)(c) information stored in an electronic or other medium if the information is retrievable in a perceivable format. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
A minor may not be employed or permitted to work in any hazardous occupation except as authorized by the division in writing when the minor is under careful supervision in connection with or following completion of an apprentice program, vocational training, or rehabilitation program as approved by the division.
