(1) If a person engaged in the business of employment or intelligence agent or broker licensed under this chapter does the following, that person is liable under Subsection (2):

Terms Used In Utah Code 34-29-15

  • Person: means :
         (24)(a) an individual;
         (24)(b) an association;
         (24)(c) an institution;
         (24)(d) a corporation;
         (24)(e) a company;
         (24)(f) a trust;
         (24)(g) a limited liability company;
         (24)(h) a partnership;
         (24)(i) a political subdivision;
         (24)(j) a government office, department, division, bureau, or other body of government; and
         (24)(k) any other organization or entity. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
  • Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.
     (1)(a) gives any false information or makes any misstatement or any false promises concerning any work, employment, or occupation;
     (1)(b) fails to keep the registers as prescribed in Sections 34-29-11 and 34-29-12;
     (1)(c) willfully makes any false entries in a register under Section 34-29-11 or 34-29-12; or
     (1)(d) violates any other provision of this chapter.
(2) If a person violates Subsection (1) and no penalty is otherwise provided in this chapter, the person shall for each and every offense be fined in any sum not exceeding $200, and in the discretion of the trial court, the person’s license may be revoked.
