Terms Used In Utah Code 34A-5-110
- Employer: means :(1)(i)(i)(A) the state;(1)(i)(i)(B) a political subdivision;(1)(i)(i)(C) a board, commission, department, institution, school district, trust, or agent of the state or a political subdivision of the state; or(1)(i)(i)(D) a person employing 15 or more employees within the state for each working day in each of 20 calendar weeks or more in the current or preceding calendar year. - Gender identity: has the meaning provided in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-5). See Utah Code 34A-5-102
This chapter may not be interpreted to prohibit an employer from adopting reasonable rules and policies that designate sex-specific facilities, including restrooms, shower facilities, and dressing facilities, provided that the employer’s rules and policies adopted under this section afford reasonable accommodations based on gender identity to all employees.
