  • Person: means :
         (24)(a) an individual;
         (24)(b) an association;
         (24)(c) an institution;
         (24)(d) a corporation;
         (24)(e) a company;
         (24)(f) a trust;
         (24)(g) a limited liability company;
         (24)(h) a partnership;
         (24)(i) a political subdivision;
         (24)(j) a government office, department, division, bureau, or other body of government; and
         (24)(k) any other organization or entity. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
     (1)(a) the Research and General Counsel Subcommittee;
     (1)(b) the Budget Subcommittee; and
     (1)(c) the Audit Subcommittee.
(2)

     (2)(a) The Research and General Counsel Subcommittee shall comprise:

          (2)(a)(i) the president, majority leader, and minority leader of the Senate; and
          (2)(a)(ii) the speaker, majority leader, and minority leader of the House of Representatives.
     (2)(b) The Research and General Counsel Subcommittee shall recommend to the Legislative Management Committee a person or persons to hold the positions of director of the Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel and legislative general counsel.
(3)

     (3)(a) The Budget Subcommittee shall comprise:

          (3)(a)(i) the president, majority leader, and minority leader of the Senate; and
          (3)(a)(ii) the speaker, majority leader, and minority leader of the House of Representatives.
     (3)(b) The Budget Subcommittee shall recommend to the Legislative Management Committee a person to hold the position of legislative fiscal analyst.

     (4)(a) The Audit Subcommittee shall comprise:

          (4)(a)(i) the president, majority leader, and minority leader of the Senate; and
          (4)(a)(ii) the speaker, majority leader, and minority leader of the House of Representatives.
     (4)(b) The Audit Subcommittee shall:

          (4)(b)(i) recommend to the Legislative Management Committee a person to hold the position of legislative auditor general; and
          (4)(b)(ii)

               (4)(b)(ii)(A) review all requests for audits;
               (4)(b)(ii)(B) prioritize those requests;
               (4)(b)(ii)(C) hear all audit reports and refer those reports to other legislative committees for their further review and action as appropriate; and
               (4)(b)(ii)(D) when notified by the legislative auditor general that a subsequent audit has found that an entity has not implemented a previous audit recommendation, refer the audit report to an appropriate legislative committee and also ensure that an appropriate legislative committee conducts a review of the entity that has not implemented the previous audit recommendation.
(5) Each subcommittee of the Legislative Management Committee:

     (5)(a) shall meet as often as necessary to perform its duties; and
     (5)(b) may meet during and between legislative sessions.
