(1) There is created within the General Fund a restricted account known as the Emergency Medical Services System Account.

Terms Used In Utah Code 53-2d-108

  • Bureau: means the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services created in Section 53-2d-102. See Utah Code 53-2d-101
  • Emergency medical services: means :
         (15)(a) medical services;
         (15)(b) transportation services;
         (15)(c) behavioral emergency services; or
         (15)(d) any combination of the services described in Subsections (15)(a) through (c). See Utah Code 53-2d-101
  • Equal: means , with respect to biological sex, of the same value. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(2) The account consists of:

     (2)(a) interest earned on the account;
     (2)(b) appropriations made by the Legislature; and
     (2)(c) contributions deposited into the account in accordance with Section 41-1a-230.7.
(3) The bureau shall use:

     (3)(a) an amount equal to 25% of the money in the account for administrative costs related to this chapter;
     (3)(b) an amount equal to 75% of the money in the account for grants awarded in accordance with Subsection 53-2d-207(3); and
     (3)(c) all money received from the revenue source in Subsection (2)(c) for grants awarded in accordance with Subsection 53-2d-207(3).
