(1) The bureau shall set training standards for hearing officers and presiding officers.

Terms Used In Utah Code 53-2d-509

  • Bureau: means the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services created in Section 53-2d-102. See Utah Code 53-2d-101
  • Presiding officer: A majority-party Senator who presides over the Senate and is charged with maintaining order and decorum, recognizing Members to speak, and interpreting the Senate's rules, practices and precedents.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(2) At a minimum, a presiding officer shall:

     (2)(a) be familiar with the theory and application of public convenience and necessity;
     (2)(b) have a working knowledge of the emergency medical service system in the state; and
     (2)(c) be licensed to practice law in the state.
(3) The bureau shall provide training for hearing officer and presiding officer candidates in the theory and application of public convenience and necessity and on the emergency medical system in the state.
