Terms Used In Utah Code 53-7-225.6
- Board: means the Utah Fire Prevention Board created in Section
53-7-203 , except as provided inPart 3, Liquefied Petroleum Gas Act . See Utah Code 53-7-102 - Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Person: means :(24)(a) an individual;(24)(b) an association;(24)(c) an institution;(24)(d) a corporation;(24)(e) a company;(24)(f) a trust;(24)(g) a limited liability company;(24)(h) a partnership;(24)(i) a political subdivision;(24)(j) a government office, department, division, bureau, or other body of government; and(24)(k) any other organization or entity. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- State fire marshal: means the fire marshal appointed director by the commissioner under Section
53-7-103 . See Utah Code 53-7-102
(1)(a) Each person, other than fire and building inspectors and electricians licensed under Title 58, Chapter 55, Utah Construction Trades Licensing Act , engaged in the inspection and testing of fire alarm systems shall be certified by the state fire marshal.
(1)(b) The board shall by administrative rule prescribe:
(1)(b)(i) an application form; and
(1)(b)(ii) standards for certification qualification and for renewal and revocation.
(2) Applicants for certification as a fire alarm system inspector and tester shall:
(2)(a) submit a written application on the form prescribed by the board;
(2)(b) provide evidence of competency as required by the board; and
(2)(c) submit the fee established under Subsection (3) .
(3) The board may establish an application fee under Section 63J-1-504 .
