(1) Except as provided for active military members or eligible military spouses in Subsection 53E-6-1102(4), a teacher may only be eligible to receive a license under this compact where that teacher holds an unencumbered license in a member state.
Terms Used In Utah Code 53E-6-1104
- License: means an authorization issued by the state board that permits the holder to serve in a professional capacity in the public schools. See Utah Code 53E-6-102
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(2) A teacher eligible to receive a license under this compact shall, unless otherwise provided for herein:
(2)(a) upon their application to receive a license under this compact, undergo a criminal background check in the receiving state in accordance with the laws and regulations of the receiving state; and
(2)(b) provide the receiving state with the information in addition to the information required for licensure for the purposes of determining compensation, if applicable.
