Subject to legislative appropriations and Subsection
(1) use funds from an appropriation for the Statewide Online Education Program to pay for an online course fee described in Section 53F-4-505 for a student who is enrolled in a public high school that enrolls fewer than 1,000 students; and

- Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
- High school: means grade 9, 10, 11, or 12. See Utah Code 53F-4-501
- Online course: means a course of instruction offered by the Statewide Online Education Program through the use of digital technology, regardless of whether the student participates in the course at home, at school, at another location, or any combination of these. See Utah Code 53F-4-501
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(2) after the funds described in Subsection (1) have been expended, make a deduction as described in Subsection 53F-4-507 (3).
