Terms Used In Utah Code 58-28-301
- Division: means the Division of Professional Licensing created in Section
58-1-103 . See Utah Code 58-1-102 - Person: means :(24)(a) an individual;(24)(b) an association;(24)(c) an institution;(24)(d) a corporation;(24)(e) a company;(24)(f) a trust;(24)(g) a limited liability company;(24)(h) a partnership;(24)(i) a political subdivision;(24)(j) a government office, department, division, bureau, or other body of government; and(24)(k) any other organization or entity. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Veterinarian: means an individual licensed under this chapter to engage in the practice of veterinary medicine, surgery, and dentistry. See Utah Code 58-28-102
(1)(a) A license is required to engage in the practice of veterinary medicine, except as specifically provided in Sections 58-1-307 and 58-28-307.(1)(b) Notwithstanding the provisions of Subsection 58-1-307(1)(c) an individual shall be licensed under this chapter as a veterinary intern in order to engage in a program of indirectly supervised clinical training with a veterinarian licensed under this chapter, and as necessary to meet licensing requirements under Subsection 58-28-302(1)(c).
(2) The division shall issue to a person who qualifies under this chapter a license in the classification of:
(2)(a) veterinarian; or
(2)(b) veterinarian intern.
