- Imitation controlled substance: means a substance designed or packaged to substantially resemble any legally or illegally manufactured controlled substance, but that is not:(3)(a) a controlled substance; or(3)(b) represented to be any legally or illegally manufactured controlled substance under Subsection
58-37-2(1)(i)(ii) . See Utah Code 58-37b-2- Person: means :
(24)(a) an individual;(24)(b) an association;(24)(c) an institution;(24)(d) a corporation;(24)(e) a company;(24)(f) a trust;(24)(g) a limited liability company;(24)(h) a partnership;(24)(i) a political subdivision;(24)(j) a government office, department, division, bureau, or other body of government; and(24)(k) any other organization or entity. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5No civil or criminal liability shall be imposed by virtue of this act on any person registered under the Controlled Substances Act who manufactures, distributes, or possesses an imitation controlled substance for use as a placebo or investigational new drug by a registered practitioner in the ordinary course of professional practice or research or on any law enforcement officer acting in the course and legitimate scope of that employment.
