Terms Used In Utah Code 63A-1-105

  • Advice and consent: Under the Constitution, presidential nominations for executive and judicial posts take effect only when confirmed by the Senate, and international treaties become effective only when the Senate approves them by a two-thirds vote.
  • Executive director: means the executive director of the Department of Government Operations. See Utah Code 63A-1-103
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
     (1)(a) appoint the executive director with the advice and consent of the Senate; and
     (1)(b) establish the executive director’s salary within the salary range fixed by the Legislature in Title 67, Chapter 22, State Officer Compensation.
(2) The executive director shall serve at the pleasure of the governor.
