Terms Used In Utah Code 63C-4a-305
- Commission: means the Federalism Commission, created in Section 63C-4a-302. See Utah Code 63C-4a-102
- Federal law: means :(7)(a) an executive order by the president of the United States;(7)(b) a statute passed by the United States Congress;(7)(c) a regulation adopted by a United States agency; or(7)(d) a policy statement, order, guidance, or action by:(7)(d)(i) a United States agency; or(7)(d)(ii) an employee or official appointed by the president of the United States. See Utah Code 63C-4a-102
- Presiding officer: A majority-party Senator who presides over the Senate and is charged with maintaining order and decorum, recognizing Members to speak, and interpreting the Senate's rules, practices and precedents.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
A commission cochair may correspond with the presiding officer of the legislative branch of another state or an entity of another state that has powers and duties that are similar to the commission to discuss and coordinate the evaluation of and response to federal law as provided in Section
63C-4a-303 .
