(1) A procurement unit seeking to procure design professional services shall:
Terms Used In Utah Code 63G-6a-1502
- Design professional: means :(24)(a) an individual licensed as an architect under Title 58, Chapter 3a, Architects Licensing Act;(24)(b) an individual licensed as a professional engineer or professional land surveyor under Title 58, Chapter 22, Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors Licensing Act;(24)(c) an individual licensed under Title 58, Chapter 53, Landscape Architects Licensing Act, to engage in the practice of landscape architecture, as defined in Section
58-53-102 ; or(24)(d) an individual certified as a commercial interior designer under Title 58, Chapter 86, State Certification of Commercial Interior Designers Act. See Utah Code 63G-6a-103- Design professional services: means :
(26)(a) professional services within the scope of the practice of architecture as defined in Section58-3a-102 ;(26)(b) professional engineering as defined in Section58-22-102 ;(26)(c) master planning and programming services;(26)(d) professional services within the scope of the practice of landscape architecture, as defined in Section58-53-102 ; or(26)(e) services within the scope of the practice of commercial interior design, as defined in Section58-86-102 . See Utah Code 63G-6a-103- Procure: means to acquire a procurement item through a procurement. See Utah Code 63G-6a-103
- Procurement: means the acquisition of a procurement item through an expenditure of public funds, or an agreement to expend public funds, including an acquisition through a public-private partnership. See Utah Code 63G-6a-103
- Request for statement of qualifications: means a document used to solicit information about the qualifications of a person interested in responding to a potential procurement, including all other documents attached to that document or incorporated in that document by reference. See Utah Code 63G-6a-103
(1)(a) publicly announce all requirements for those services through a request for statement of qualifications, as provided in this part; and(1)(b) negotiate contracts for design professional services:(1)(b)(i) on the basis of demonstrated competence and qualification for the type of services required; and(1)(b)(ii) at fair and reasonable prices.(2) A procurement unit shall procure design professional services as provided in this part, except as otherwise provided in Sections 63G-6a-506, 63G-6a-802, and 63G-6a-803.(3) A procurement unit may procure professional services, other than design professional services, as provided in this part.(4) This part does not affect the authority of, and does not apply to procedures undertaken by, a procurement unit to obtain the services of architects or engineers in the capacity of employees of the procurement unit. - Design professional services: means :
