(1) The State Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice is composed of 17 voting members as follows:

- Administrator: includes "executor" when the subject matter justifies the use. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Commission: means the State Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice created in Section
63M-7-201 . See Utah Code 63M-7-101.5 - Defense attorney: Represent defendants in criminal matters.
- Oversight: Committee review of the activities of a Federal agency or program.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(1)(a) the state court administrator or the state court administrator’s designee;
(1)(b) the executive director of the Department of Corrections or the executive director’s designee;
(1)(c) the executive director of the Department of Health and Human Services or the executive director’s designee;
(1)(d) the commissioner of the Department of Public Safety or the commissioner’s designee;
(1)(e) the attorney general or an attorney designated by the attorney general;
(1)(f) the president of the chiefs of police association or a chief of police designated by the association’s president;
(1)(g) the president of the sheriffs’ association or a sheriff designated by the association’s president;
(1)(h) the chair of the Board of Pardons and Parole or a member of the Board of Pardons and Parole designated by the chair;
(1)(i) the chair of the Utah Sentencing Commission or a member of the Utah Sentencing Commission designated by the chair;
(1)(j) the chair of the Juvenile Justice Oversight Committee or a member of the Juvenile Justice Oversight Committee designated by the chair;
(1)(k) the chair of the Utah Victim Services Commission or a member of the Utah Victim Services Commission designated by the chair;
(1)(l) an indigent defense attorney, appointed by the Utah Indigent Defense Commission;
(1)(m) a criminal prosecutor, appointed by the Statewide Association of Public Attorneys and Prosecutors;
(1)(n) a criminal defense attorney, appointed by the Utah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers;
(1)(o) the executive director of the commission;
(1)(p) an education professional, appointed by the State Board of Education; and
(1)(q) the director of the Division of Juvenile Justice and Youth Services or the director’s designee.
(2) In addition to the members designated in Subsection (1), the following may serve as non-voting members:
(2)(a) a district court judge appointed by the Judicial Council; and
(2)(b) a juvenile court judge appointed by the Judicial Council.
(3) In appointing the members under Subsections (1) and (2), the appointing authority shall take into account the geographical makeup of the commission.
