(1) As used in this section:
(1)(a) “Division” means the Division of Water Resources.
(1)(b) “General plan”:
(1)(b)(i) for a municipality, means the same as that term is defined in Section 10-9a-103; and
(1)(b)(ii) for a county, means the same as that term is defined in Section 17-27a-103.
(1)(c) “Local government” means a county or a municipality, as defined in Section 10-1-104.
(1)(d) “Watershed council” means a council created under Chapter 10g, Part 3, Watershed Councils Act.
(2) The division shall provide technical assistance to a local government to support the local government’s adoption of a water use and preservation element in a general plan.
(3) When consulted by a local government for information and technical resources regarding regional water conservation goals under Subsection 10-9a-403(2)(f)(vi) or 17-27a-403(2)(f)(ii), the division may seek input from the appropriate watershed council or councils.
