Terms Used In Utah Code 73-10g-103

  • Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
  • Board: means the Board of Water Resources. See Utah Code 73-10g-102
  • Division: means the Division of Water Resources. See Utah Code 73-10g-102
  • Restricted account: means the Water Infrastructure Restricted Account created in Section 73-10g-103. See Utah Code 73-10g-102
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
     (1)(a) There is created a restricted account in the General Fund known as the “Water Infrastructure Restricted Account.”
     (1)(b) The restricted account shall earn interest.
(2) The restricted account consists of money generated from the following sources:

     (2)(a) voluntary contributions made to the division for the construction, operation, or maintenance of state water projects;
     (2)(b) appropriations made to the restricted account by the Legislature;
     (2)(c) interest earned on the restricted account; and
     (2)(d) money transferred to the restricted account under Section 73-10-25.
(3) Subject to appropriation, the division and the board shall manage the restricted account created in Subsection (1) in accordance with this chapter.
