Terms Used In Utah Code 75A-4-104
- Common law: The legal system that originated in England and is now in use in the United States. It is based on judicial decisions rather than legislative action.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
The common law and principles of equity supplement this chapter, except to the extent modified by this chapter or laws of this state other than this chapter.
