It is an affirmative defense to a prosecution in which an actor‘s criminal responsibility arises from his own conduct or from being a party to an offense under Section
(1) Gave timely warning to the proper law enforcement authorities or the intended victim; or

- Actor: means a person whose criminal responsibility is in issue in a criminal action. See Utah Code 76-1-101.5
- Conduct: means an act or omission. See Utah Code 76-1-101.5
- Offense: means a violation of any penal statute of this state. See Utah Code 76-1-101.5
(2) Wholly deprives his prior efforts of effectiveness in the commission.
