Terms Used In Utah Code 76-8-420

  • Actor: means a person whose criminal responsibility is in issue in a criminal action. See Utah Code 76-1-101.5
  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • Highway: includes :
         (15)(a) a public bridge;
         (15)(b) a county way;
         (15)(c) a county road;
         (15)(d) a common road; and
         (15)(e) a state road. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
  • Road: includes :
         (33)(a) a public bridge;
         (33)(b) a county way;
         (33)(c) a county road;
         (33)(d) a common road; and
         (33)(e) a state road. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(2) An actor commits removing or damaging a road sign if the actor intentionally or knowingly removes or damages:

     (2)(a) a milepost, milestone, or guidepost erected on a highway; or
     (2)(b) an inscription on a milepost, milestone, or guidepost.
(3) A violation of Subsection (2) is a class B misdemeanor.
