(1) Each law enforcement agency in this state shall enforce all orders of the court issued under the requirements and procedures described in this chapter, and shall enforce:
Terms Used In Utah Code 77-36-6
- Cohabitant: means the same as that term is defined in Section
78B-7-102 . See Utah Code 77-36-1 - Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- Victim: means a cohabitant who has been subjected to domestic violence. See Utah Code 77-36-1
(1)(a) all protective orders and ex parte protective orders issued under Title 78B, Chapter 7, Part 6, Cohabitant Abuse Protective Orders;
(1)(b) pretrial protective orders issued under Section 78B-7-803 and sentencing protective orders and continuous protective orders issued under Section 78B-7-804; and
(1)(c) all foreign protection orders enforceable under Title 78B, Chapter 7, Part 3, Uniform Interstate Enforcement of Domestic Violence Protection Orders Act.
(2) The requirements of this section apply statewide, regardless of the jurisdiction in which the order was issued or the location of the victim or the perpetrator.
