Utah Code 78B-7-607. Penalties

(1) A violation of a criminal provision of a protective order issued under this part is a class A misdemeanor.

Under the Utah Code, punishments for crimes depend on the classification. In the case of this section:

Class	Prison	Fine
class A misdemeanor	up to 364 days	up to $2,500

Court: means the district court or juvenile court. See Utah Code 78B-7-201
Protective order: means :
(3)(a) a cohabitant abuse protective order; or
(3)(b) an ex parte cohabitant abuse protective order. See Utah Code 78B-7-601

(2) A violation of a civil provision of a protective order issued under this part is contempt of court.
