A cemetery maintenance district, municipality, individual, or other person that controls a cemetery shall:

(1) adopt policies and procedures for the regulation of its affairs and the conduct of its business, including policies and procedures for the following:

  • Person: means :
         (24)(a) an individual;
         (24)(b) an association;
         (24)(c) an institution;
         (24)(d) a corporation;
         (24)(e) a company;
         (24)(f) a trust;
         (24)(g) a limited liability company;
         (24)(h) a partnership;
         (24)(i) a political subdivision;
         (24)(j) a government office, department, division, bureau, or other body of government; and
         (24)(k) any other organization or entity. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
     (1)(a) setting of prices and other charges for services;
     (1)(b) sale of burial rights;
     (1)(c) regulation of headstones;
     (1)(d) care of headstones;
     (1)(e) regulation of flowers, shrubs, or other foliage placed or planted on an individual burial site; and
     (1)(f) compliance with provisions of this title and other governing provisions of law; and
(2) establish a record keeping system, including a secure backup of those records that is regularly updated.
