(1) The STEM Action Center shall develop an applied science initiative for students in grades 7 and 8 that includes:
Terms Used In Utah Code 9-22-111
- High quality professional development: means professional development that meets high quality standards developed by the State Board of Education. See Utah Code 9-22-102
- Process: means a writ or summons issued in the course of a judicial proceeding. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- STEM: means science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. See Utah Code 9-22-102
- STEM Action Center: means the center described in Section 9-22-106. See Utah Code 9-22-102
(1)(a) a STEM applied science curriculum with instructional materials;
(1)(b) STEM hybrid or blended high quality professional development that allows for face-to-face applied learning; and
(1)(c) hands-on tools for STEM applied science learning.
(2) The STEM Action Center may, through a request for proposals process, select a consultant to assist in developing the initiative described in Subsection (1).
