- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Worker cooperative: means a corporation which has elected to be governed by this chapter. See
§ 1083. Corporations organized under chapter 17; election to be governed as worker cooperative
Any corporation organized under chapter 17 of this title may elect to be governed as a worker cooperative under the provisions of this chapter, by so stating in its articles of association or articles of amendment filed in accordance with chapter 17. (Added 1985, No. 46, § 1.)
