- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
§ 129. Stay
An appeal filed pursuant to section 128 of this title shall not stay the effectiveness of the order appealed from unless the Court otherwise orders. (Added 1985, No. 267 (Adj. Sess.), § 13; amended 2023, No. 53, § 35, eff. June 8, 2023.)
