Terms Used In Vermont Statutes Title 18 Sec. 2255

  • Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
  • Town: shall include city and wards or precincts therein; "selectboard members" and "board of civil authority" shall extend to and include the mayor and aldermen of cities; "trustees" shall extend to and include bailiffs of incorporated villages; and the laws applicable to the inhabitants and officers of towns shall be applicable to the inhabitants and similar officers of all municipal corporations. § 2255. Extension of lien

In the event that a hospital entitled to a lien under this chapter shall have served a notice as provided for by 33 V.S.A. § 821, the lien herein provided for shall extend to the town receiving such notice, provided that the town so served shall follow the provisions of sections 2252 and 2253 of this title.
