Terms Used In Vermont Statutes Title 18 Sec. 604

  • Health officer: means Commissioner of Health, the Commissioner's designee, or a local or district health officer. See
  • Local board of health: means the local health officer, with the selectboard of the town or city council of a city. See
  • Town: shall include city and wards or precincts therein; "selectboard members" and "board of civil authority" shall extend to and include the mayor and aldermen of cities; "trustees" shall extend to and include bailiffs of incorporated villages; and the laws applicable to the inhabitants and officers of towns shall be applicable to the inhabitants and similar officers of all municipal corporations. § 604. Local Board of Health

The local health officer, with the selectboard of the town, or the city council of a city, shall constitute a local board of health for such town or city. (Amended 1985, No. 267 (Adj. Sess.), § 20.)
