- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.

§ 7311. Investigation
If, in the judgment of the Board, an investigation is necessary, it shall appoint a time and place for hearing and give the patient’s attorney, guardian, spouse, parent, adult child, or interested party, if any, in that order, and the head of the hospital reasonable notice thereof.
