Terms Used In Vermont Statutes Title 23 Sec. 1749

  • Person: includes any natural person, corporation, association, co-partnership, company, firm, or other aggregation of individuals. See
  • Town: shall include city and wards or precincts therein; "selectboard members" and "board of civil authority" shall extend to and include the mayor and aldermen of cities; "trustees" shall extend to and include bailiffs of incorporated villages; and the laws applicable to the inhabitants and officers of towns shall be applicable to the inhabitants and similar officers of all municipal corporations. § 1749. Penalty

(a) The penalty that may be voluntarily paid by any person so violating any ordinance regulating metered parking in the town shall be $1.00. For other violations involving parking a penalty not to exceed $5.00 for the first violation and not to exceed $15.00 for the second or subsequent offense within 30 days of a previous violation shall be paid. Other violations of the ordinances of the town shall be punished in the manner prescribed by law.

(b) Notwithstanding subsection (a) of this section, a person violating a parking ordinance for persons with disabilities may be fined not more than $25.00 for each offense.
